Children's afterschool classes
The After School Homework Help, English Learning, & Wellness Volunteer will support students’ well being and academic achievement. After school groups, facilitated in the LCSNW Vancouver Office, focus on promoting mental health, emotional resilience, and positive coping strategies.

Career mentoring
A College and Career Mentor volunteer provides guidance and support to students as they navigate their academic journey and prepare for their future careers. They offer encouragement, share their experiences, and help students develop skills needed for success in both college and beyond.
What stake members have done
West Stake members have gathered welcome baskets and created circles of welcome to support families. There was a pause in the refugee programs across the country shortly after our stake fireside in March of this year; however, refugees are again being admitted by the US State Department, with most of the current refugees coming from Afghanistan. Members of the stake are helping refugee families navigate their new community, be successful at work and become self reliant.

What the Church Humanitarian Department has done
Lutheran Community Services NW has been featured in the Church's Christmas Giving Machines in Washington. The humanitarian department has provided support to refugee resettlement programs administered by LCSNW and is actively pursuing additional support.
